A fantastic copper As of Nero, The reverse depicting the 'Temple of Janus' This curious rectangular structure stood somewhere in the Forum but the precise location is uncertain. It consisted of two arched gateways joined by walls but without a roof. On the highly unusual occasions when Rome was not at war with a foreign enemy - the doors of the 'Twin Janus' were ceremonially closed. An excellent example of this classic coin, well centred with sharp details.
